
Melissa Alvarez
Attorney Melissa Alvarez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She attended and graduated from Florida International University in 2018, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Services Administration. Ms. Alvarez then attended and graduated Cum Laude from St. Thomas University College of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate degree. During her law school career, Ms. Alvarez earned a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Trial Advocacy Practice, which is awarded to the student with the highest grade in the course, in addition to making Dean’s List for several semesters.
Ms. Alvarez served as a Student Ambassador for the Cuban American Student Bar Association, as well as Director of Operations and Events for the Tort Law Society. Moreover, she was an active member of the Phi Alpha Delta chapter at St. Thomas University and served as Student Director for the Miami Lakes Bar Association in 2021 and 2022. Ms. Alvarez was first introduced into the field of Worker’s Compensation prior to attending law school, working as a legal assistant. She later went on to work as a law clerk, specializing in civil litigation. After sitting for the Florida Bar upon graduation from St. Thomas University College of Law, Ms. Alvarez joined the Law Office of Gloria M. Garcia, P.A. as a law clerk until receiving her Bar Passage and being promoted to Associate Attorney.
